Method and target group

Media4ME International is developing a digital resource kit in 6 different languages in which methods and strategies are described for the introduction, development and implementation of sustainable media programs at local level. Media4ME International supports and trains employees of local organizations. The direct target groups are schools, libraries, community centers, self-help organizations, religious organizations, youth centers, housing associations and local media. Indirect target groups are the residents of multicultural neighborhoods in the participating countries. Eight national coaches are trained who in their turn will train media coaches in the districts, as well as eight national trainers in the selected flagship neighborhoods' with the final goal being the development of community action plans.

Flagship neighborhoods

Flagship neighborhoods are eight multicultural neighborhoods where local partners are willing and able to structurally use (social) media for engaging in intercultural dialogue and strengthening the social ties. They receive support and guidance from the international partnership to train national & local media coaches. In all flagship neighborhoods pilot projects are in progress. The results are monitored and evaluated in an international context a number of times during the project.

Flagship neighborhoods are: Quartier Navile, Bologna, Italiy; Kuregem, Brussels-Anderlecht, België; District 13, Prague Czech Republic; Coteaux-Josaphat, Brussels, Belgium; Overvecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands; Nieuw-West, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Fisher Mead, Milton Keynes, UK; Colentina, Bucharest, Romania.
