Giving image and sound to your voice
DigiTales is a digital storytelling project involving people from across Europe making short films about their lives. Through the process, they can learn how to write a script, record a voiceover and edit photos, videos and drawings into a two-three minutes film. This initiative has been created thanks to a partnership of Equal projects involving organisations such as MiraMedia (NL), Hi8us (UK), ACEC Association for Culture Education and Communication) (SK), Dimitra (GR), BGZ (DE), YLE (FI) and the De Balie (NL).
These partners are working together developing different programs based on this main idea, but integrating it into their national activities, in order to involve members from the targeted groups. The project is directed to groups which do not enjoy equal participation in their societies, such is the case of women and girls with Muslim background, young people at risk, immigrants, ethnic minorities, users of mental health services, unemployed, Sinti and Roma communities, refugees, expatriates, etc. The initiative aims at giving an opportunity to this people to participate as equal citizens in the new European society and promoting their integration on it, breaking communication barriers and reducing obstacles that may hinder their integration process.
