The
DigiTales project not only intends to create new perspectives of employment for these target groups, but also to awake awareness in a broader public using the media as a tool for change. Resulting video clips are being published online in the
DigiTales website (www.digi-tales.org), as well as broadcast on television (BBC, YLE) and as some of the partners have done or proposed, displaying them in public transportation and other public spaces. The screening of these video clips is an important part of the program and new ideas are welcome in order to get as much diffusion as possible of the
DigiTales. Some participants pointed to the possibility of playing the videos on big screens situated in the open air in the cities, stations, airports, etc. Partners have also pointed to the possibility of showing the videos in the cinemas around the country as previews. The final public display of the video clips provides also extra motivation among participants, who know that at the end their work will have an audience other than themselves or their trainers.
DigiTales is more than making an own video clip about personal experiences. Behind the project is not only the philosophy of letting hear a voice somehow silenced by society. It is also about a learning project of doing something new with digital media that allows the participants to grow, developing new artistic and technical capacities, and increasing their self-esteem, at the same time that a platform is given to them to use their voice.
